Indian-American artist Lakshmi Devy’s directorial debut ‘When The Music Changes’ won two prestigious awards — Gold Remi at the 54th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival and Best Mid Length Feature film at the New York City Independent Film Festival. WorldFest is one of the oldest and largest film and video competitions in the world.
“I ventured into it because it was the need of the hour. We read about a new rape case almost every day,” Devy told the media about why she chose such a grim topic for her debut. “I am humbled by this award which has been received by such great directors before me. It keeps me on the path to keep striving to do better,” said Devy on receiving this award.
