Book Club: The Nine Chambered Heart by Janice Pariat is an Experience Not to be Missed

MAKERS India•24 January 2021

In MAKERS India Book Club today, we are starting off a series on four books of fiction by Indian women in the last four years. Kicking off the series is The Nine Chambered Heart by Janice Pariat, winner of the Young Writer Award from the Sahitya Akademi and the Crossword Book Award for Fiction in 2013.

Janice studied English Literature at St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and History of Art at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. In 2014, she was the Charles Wallace Creative Writing Fellow at the University of Kent, UK. Her other works are Boats on Land, a collection of short stories and Seahorse, a novel.

The Nine Chambered Heart is reflective of how individuals connect with each other in unique ways, and leave untold stories in the wake of each adventure. Watch the video to find out more.

Text and voice over by Athira Nair; Editing by Venkatesh S.
