Meet our ChangeMAKER Geeta Dharmarajan. Originally hailing from Chennai, in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu, Geeta founded 'Katha' in 1989 with the hopes of providing quality and equal education opportunities for children in slums. Starting her career of in the United States for magazines like 'Target' and 'The Pennsylvania Gazeete', she used her talent of storytelling and deviced it into a new learning strategy called the 'story pedagogy'. Believing that learning and schooling are two separate things, Geeta puts an emphasis on the power of learning to transform the lives and fates of underprivileged children in the country.
