It’s World Environment Day and in keeping with this year’s theme ‘It’s time for nature’, many Bollywood actors took to social media to spread awareness around the urgent and pressing need to take action for the conservation of nature.
Actors were seen launching online campaigns, talking about making sustainable changes in their lifestyle and urging people to learn to co-exist with other species, and understand the importance and relevance of building a better planet for future generations.
Dia Mirza reiterated the importance of growing more trees and urged to replace materialistic gifts with ‘the gift of life.’
The services that nature provides in sustaining our lives & livelihoods must define the way we respond to nature. We are not apart from nature, our lives are interlinked with it.

While the recent global lockdown emerged as a healing time for nature, the tragedies and aftermath of the climate change is being witnessed around the world in form of forest fires, cyclones, floods, etc. It’s high time we realise that these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message: To care for ourselves we must care for nature.
