As the chief creative officer of her eponymous House of Anita Dongre — which shelters five distinct brands — Anita Dongre has many firsts to her credit as a fashion entrepreneur.
Dongre, who has dressed several well-known faces, takes us back to her childhood days when she refused to conform to gender-specific roles, and later "rebelled" and "ranted" to take up her first job. Years later, she tells us, there were detractors asking her why she needed to become so ‘big’, explaining how often society fears an ambitious woman. Dongre stresses on the importance of women having a career.
