The MAKERS India’s first-ever annual conference kicked off today on March 12. Themed on ‘Women Who Make India’, the two-day conference – with its incredible line of speakers – aims to be a milestone in India’s journey of gender equality at work.
Verizon Media CEO Guru Gowrappan who graced the occasion with his inaugural speech said, “I feel inspired by the progress women are making in the workforce as they overcome gender barriers. But there is still so much to do. And let's do that by empowering and supporting women to be Atmanirbhar, to enter the workforce, to stay in the workforce and to take a seat at the table.”
“As we work towards building a community of empowered women, these two days will see influential leaders from diverse fields come together to explore ways and accelerate women’s equality through provoking conversations and compelling storytelling. So let us build this chorus of voices that can lead to dialogues, actions and change,” he added.
