Kerala’s adoption of early interventions allowed the state to gain significant control over the COVID-19 pandemic during both waves of the virus. The public health strategies were led by former Health Minister KK Shailaja who has now received the prestigious 2021 Central European University (CEU) Open Society Prize for her commendable contribution to public health services.
The university’s highest honour was presented to her for “her determined leadership and community-based public health work, saving lives during the pandemic” at a virtual convocation. Watch the video to know more.
