Trying to launch her own clothing brand online as a fresh engineering graduate, Kirti Poonia picked up a lot of skills which later proved useful when she was leading Okhai. "For my brand, I used to shoot the photographs at home and design complete garments, upload it on Facebook and sell online. But the brand died before reaching a large scale," she tells MAKERS India.
As fate would have it, a few years later, Kirti went on to rebuild Okhai, a social enterprise empowering women artisans. At the small set-up, with minimal resources, Kirti was able to do everything needed to uplift the NGO into a thriving e-commerce business.
