Manushi Chhillar: The Miss World With A Purpose

Manushi Chhillar is the winner of Miss World 2017. She brought the title home after a gap of 16 years since Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s win in 2000, making her the sixth representative from India to win the pageant.

Chhillar is India's first woman to win the Miss World and Beauty with a Purpose title jointly. She named her Beauty with a Purpose campaign ‘Project Shakti’. The campaign's goal was to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene in interior villages of India by advocating for young girls and women.

Chhillar is also known for her academic excellence. Meanwhile, she is set to mark her Hindi film industry debut in the film ‘Prithviraj’ opposite Akshay Kumar later this year.
