Saroja Yeramilli, founder and CEO of online fine jewellery store Melorra, believes that diversity is essential to build a great culture in organisations, which in turn strengthen the growth of the company. Talking to MAKERS India, she reveals that diversity is not just confined to gender, but religion, region, ethnicity, and even educational backgrounds. “I'm very fond of creating cross functional teams for any project. I like the idea because when you mix up people from different backgrounds, different functions, different education, different gender, different ethnicities, you get some fantastic results that you could not even have imagined possible,” she says. Saroja also believes that it’s not just policies but also the company’s culture that helps employees keep a balance between personal and professional lives.
