Shikha Chaturvedi, the co-founder of IGRAASP, says that the basic idea behind this Youtube channel was that news is not something that you can force a child to read or watch. "This is a habit that we have to inculcate gradually, from a young age. Just because they see us reading the newspapers and watching news channels, they need not be interested."
According to Shikha, an educationist, seven or eight years onward is when children really get into forming these habits. "By then you already know whether a child is a reader or not, whether a child is inclined to sports or something else," she says.
In a recent chat with MAKERS India, Shikha clarified that news for children is different from news for adults, and elaborated on how IGRAASP is keeping children hooked on to the platform.
