Rehana Shaikh, from the Mumbai Police department has been headlining news for her rare humanitarian acts during the pandemic. She has committed herself to the education of 50 children in Dnyani Vidyalaya in Raigad’s Waje taluka in Maharashtra. In May 2020, Shaikh had planned to celebrate her daughter’s birthday in the private school.
Shaikh has been recognized for her good deeds by Mumbai Police. Inspired by Shaikh, the Makdum Shah Baba Trust came forward to support the children who didn’t even have footwear and had to undertake long, arduous commutes to reach the school.
